classic industrial noise song from a classic industrial noise band

Genital deformities - Headfucker

I've always loved this bands album, shagnasty oi from 89 which this song comes off, its slow, heavy and doomy.
tbh i never knew they released another couple of albums in the early 90s until this week so dug the first album out again

Lydia Lunch - Orphans

A great song from the mistress of US no wave music.
I've always had a soft spot for Lydia :)

Transglobal Underground - Dopi

I love this song, a great reggae tune done by a 90s multicultural, hippy, trance band steeped in world music.
The song was off their classic album international times which came out in the early 90s.
A Dopi is african for a ghost

Mixologists with MC Trip - Jungle Drummer

I dont know much about this tbh, apart fromm its a brilliant track with some amazing drumming done physically by an actual person rather than the usual drum loops.

DDR & The Geezer - Ace of spades

Heres a bizarre mix.
London heavy acid techno dudes DDR and The geezer.......from the loose knit Liberator djs collective playing the heavy metal Motorhead classic Ace of spades lol.
and surprisingly it works

The The - Another boy drowning

Heres a very dark song by a great and very underlooked band The The. The The are a dark jazzy band in a similer mould to Nick Cave and the bad seeds.
Their album and single "infected" was a minor hit but they never got the popularity they deserve, even in the indie scene (maybe that was cos theyre a bit too jazzy?)

Leftfield - Original

Heres a track from possibly my fave dance album ......AND fave album ever "Leftfield - Leftism".
Every track is a classic, full of heavy percussion, space, dub, progressive house.
Leftfield are two old punks that got into dance music in the late 80s and released single upon single in the early 90s which were popular with people in the know but it wasnt till their debut album in 1995 they hit the big time and even got nominated for a mercury music prize.
sadly they only released 1 more album, then later on a best of emerged and then they split :(
They were both musicians and got guests to perform vocals on their tracks......including one John lydon on the single "open up"

Half man half biscuit - national shite day

One of "Uncle" John peels faves from his radio show over the years. Who can forget early 80s classics such as trumpton riots and Fuckin' 'ell it's Fred Titmus.
Well here's a track off their last album "CSI Ambleside", still has the satire, the mundane and the humour.
Enjoy

Oral - Black Leather

This songs both interesting and baffling as i'd heard it done by the Sex Pistols (well paul Cook and Steve Jones anyway) that was released on 7" in the Pistols pack.
I always presumed they wrote it (tho ive never seen the single to see who its written by) then i come across this 4 cd set of mostly NWOBHM songs in a charity shop and this songs on it, it states (Oral) as who its written by, so im thinking it was released by Oral in about 78/79? then "borrowed" by the remnants of the Sex Pistols at the very end of their career (79/80?)

anway hear Orals version here

Orchestral manouvers in the dark

Yesterday i dug out some 80's vinyl to play and rediscovered some OMD, i love the 80's synth pop stuff.
I alwas remember in school i refused to follow the normal classical music stuff and so was left to write about my two favourite music genres of the time, punk and synth/electronic stuff eg:- kraftwerk
Looking back on OMD their early work is vry industrial sounding and dark, like these two tracks im posting:-
Enola gay (we all know what the Enola Gay was)
Stanlow
the first and last songs off the album Organisation from 1980

Barnyard Ballers - God Boy

Heres another psychobilly related track ive just got introduced to, or rather he said they are "pervy punkabilly"
you can tell they are part rockabilly part punk, as they veer from a demented deliverence type sound to a GBH type punk thrash and back again, all the while the lyrics are quite pervy and bawdy :)

enjoy

Empress of fur - Johnny Voodoo

Heres a song i really love at the minute, i first heard it on a Psychobilly compilation cd i found in a charity shop.
Its like a mix of rockabilly and southern delta blues......quite dark and mysterious.
Epmress of fur are quite sleezy and glamorous as they feature two slinky females in their ranks and have supported the likes of the cramps etc.

The Dead C - Love

Heres a great song by the Dead C called Love

I listened to this song this morning on the way to work and it conjured up images of a dilapidated 1970s urban landscape, all closed factories and dark skies etc.
The rest of their album (harsh 70s reality) is all dissonence, feedback and drones, its on the fringes of what i enjoy listening to.
